The LGBT / Queer Issues Caucus exists to mitigate the sense of isolation and invisibility that many lesbian, gay, and bisexual art educators, students, and artists experience. The LGBT / Queer Issues Caucus seeks to promote quality instruction in visual arts education that includes information relating to the understanding of lesbian, gay, and bisexual content in artists’ works and their lives. The LGBT / Queer Issues Caucus will work with the NAEA to create programs, curricula, and leadership based on lesbian, gay, and bisexual issues on artists' lives and their works; to hold public discussions; to sponsor institutes, conferences and programs; publish articles, reports, and surveys; and work with other groups to support and advance lesbian, gay, and bisexual issues in the visual arts and in visual arts education.

part of the ongoing process of curricular revision;
